So many things have happened these last few months, so much in fact i haven't had any time to sit down and do this website! We've moved out to the country and we're loving it! Lots of space and room to stretch out.
We also went to ARBA Convention where Cassie took Best of Breed and Best Opposite of Breed in youth with her spots! Her own home-grown babies and they are beautiful! Judge even mentioned that they would have won Open division if they were entered, could you imagine an 11 year old beating the adults?!?!
Bethany also won with one of her Creme's. She got a Best Junior and was incredibly excited to get a plaque! Yea!!!
Cassie has always wanted some standard Hotots... and at convention, she found what she wanted. So we came home with a pair from Matt and Cassie has named them Willow and Cottonwood and they are adorable! So now we have another breed in the barn! Look out, this kid is dangerous!
Thank you for visiting Spots of Rhapsody, proud ARBA rabbitry #B068 located in northern Sacramento valley.

Check back often!
One day a few years ago, my oldest daughter and I were rummaging around in my hope chest and came across some of my old 4-H things. Answering her questions, she took on an interest in raising rabbits. This thrilled me because after many years without them, my heart still yearned. I raised Beverens and Silver Martens (and many others in-between) for 7 years before life took over. Now, almost 10 years later, I had not one accomplice, but two! My kids!
I entered both girls in 4-H and we headed to our first rabbit show! At that show, and the next one, we didn't see anything that peaked their interest. We had picked up a black Havana and a red New Zealand but those were "place holders."
At our second show, Cassie saw an English Spot and it was love at first sight! Then she saw a Silver Marten and was smitten. By the third show, she had quite the herd growing. We were fortunate and received some wonderful lines from Anna Patterson and Jaci Luxon who were more than happy to share their knowledge and wisdom to help us get started in ES's.
A lot will be occurring in the next few years. With the grace of god, we will be building a huge barn on some acquired property and will expand our herd; keep in touch and we'll keep you updated!
Until then, see you all at the tables!
| We are very active in our 4-H group, Lone Pine. Cassie holds the position of Historian. I have been selected to be the rabbit leader. Support your local 4-H member and allow them to strive to be the best they can! |
